Low Rankings? Try a Bidding Directory

March 27, 2008

One of the most difficult things for a new webmaster to wrap their head around is the importance of the back link.  If you have been around the Internet for any length of time and have been involved with Internet marketing, however, you no doubt understand how a few strategically placed links can really give your website the boost that it needs.  Not only does it help you to achieve higher rankings, it gives you a positive rating in the eyes of Google that will help you to build your search engine optimization to an even higher level.

Do you remember when you first started out with your website?  You knew that getting links was vital to your success but the problem was, nobody wanted to give you those links.  That’s because linking is a two way street with Google.  Links that come into your website help you with your rankings and give you weight in the eyes of Google.  Links going out of your website, on the other hand, tend to drain some of your page rank and dilute your importance in Google’s eyes.  The only exception to this rule is if you are linking out to authority websites which have a higher rank than you do.

If you are ready to take your search engine optimization to the next level, using a bidding directory can give you the boost that you need.  The concept behind these directories is fairly easy to understand. You can participate in these link directories by bidding on your position in the directory itself. The higher your bid, the better you will rank. Those that bid for a position on the top page usually end up with a back link that ranks rather well in the eyes of Google and the other search engines. This can have a significant impact on how well your website ranks.

It’s important for you to understand that the type of links that your website receives has a major bearing on how well you will rank in the search engines.  That is why most bidding directories are separated into various subjects so that you can choose one which matches your own particular niche.  There is a lot of talk about the possibility that Google is now ranking the links that are coming into your website with more favor if they are coming from websites that are in the same theme as yours.

The best part about using one of these bidding directories is that you’re not doing anything other than purchasing advertising on another webpage, something that is perfectly acceptable.  You’re not gaming Google or any of the other search engines but by having your link on their sites, you are helping your website to rank better in the search engines.  Once you get some weight behind you and begin to rank well yourself, you can join the bidding directory from the other end and begin renting some links on your own pages.
